Hi, I am Virginia…

I help people working in the social change space thrive in their work, find work-life balance, and build a value-aligned life.

About me

I was born and raised in Italy, and I now live between Venice and New York City (ancestral and seized land of the Lenape People).

My entire professional life has been dedicated to social change. I began by providing healthcare services to migrant seasonal farmworkers in rural southern Italy. In 2013, I moved to the United States, where I shifted to systemic work - supporting strategy and learning for nonprofits, foundations, and public administrations. Over the years, I’ve had many roles, from employee to freelance consultant, team member to executive.

In 2023, I left my full-time position as an organization director to pursue a new approach to work—one where work is not the ultimate purpose and center, but rather one of the meaningful building blocks that sustains a full, balanced life.

Around the same time, I discovered a desire to work with individuals at a deep, personal level, accompanying them on the different paths I’ve been traveling. This led me to train as a professional and life coach.

My Favourite People

While I partner with a diverse range of people on various issues, my primary work is with:

Social Change Practitioners

With 15 years of experience in this space, I can be a thought partner on navigating the complexities of mission-driven work such as resource constraints, high-stress environments, impostor syndrome and burnout, dynamics with supervisors, colleagues, and clients

Work-life balance seekers

While building a successful career, I have also taken extensive breaks and periods of part-time work to see the world, learn natural horsemanship, and spend time with my community in Italy. Together, we can explore realistic ways to set boundaries with work and open up space for other aspects of life that bring joy and fulfillment.

Independent practice builders

A key enabler of flexibility in my life has been the choice to go from employee to independent consultant and coach. Whatever your motivation, I can accompany you in considering this path for yourself, identifying a unique value-proposition for your practice, and developing a feasible strategy to bring your vision into reality.

My approach

I strive for a developmental, ethical approach to coaching. As a coach, my primary role is to hold a generative space for my clients to figure out what would work best in their situation and according to their values. When appropriate, I encourage my clients to 1) expand the scope of the coaching engagement beyond specific outcomes, to issues that address their whole selves, and 2) recognize and address how the social, political, and historical contexts they live in may impact them and their communities, as well as how respective roles, identities, and lived experience may shape the coaching relationship.

Process and pricing

As I am working towards my Associate Certified Coach accreditation with the International Coaching Federation, I would be delighted to provide a promotional package. I offer up to 2 free sessions, so we can assess if we can be a good fit for each other.

After that, to make them affordable, I offer my services at a sliding scale cost:

Discount: $50 per 1-hour session.

I want people of all income levels to be able to afford my services. You can choose this rate of paying the standard rate is a stretch for you.

Standard: $75 per 1-hour session

This is the basic rate that covers my costs.

Pro-bono: Free

I have also set aside spots to be offered for free to people who cannot afford the standard or discounted rates for any reason. Please contact me to inquire about this.

Kind words

“Working with Virginia for the past year has been transformative for me. With her guidance, I’ve been able to set meaningful goals around creating and maintaining healthy boundaries with work. She has helped me better understand and embrace my own needs and desires. And she’s been instrumental in helping me overcome struggles with self-doubt and people-pleasing. I am grateful for her compassion and insight, walking with me as I take this journey towards greater authenticity, alignment, and wellbeing in my life.”

“With immense gratitude, I want to share my experience working with Virginia. Over the course of seven months, our collaboration has been nothing short of transformative. Virginia's ability to cut through the noise and provide the reflective listening I needed was both helpful and inspiring. Whether it was caring for an older parent, building a better connection with an adult child, or gaining a clearer sense of my values and purpose, Virginia was always there. She was non-judgmental, yet never let me off the hook. Supportive, yet never validating my worst impulses. Kind, yet always keeping our tangible goals in sight. I always appreciated her ability to stay focused on my strengths while also addressing areas for growth. Working with her helped me tap into strengths I didn't know I had, ultimately making me a better son, father, business owner, and human being. This journey has had a tangible impact on my life, leading to improved relationships and increased business opportunities I wouldn't have had without her help. I can't recommend her enough for anyone looking to peer into the darkness, move a mountain, start a journey, or discover their mission in life. You WILL walk away a better person. You WILL learn something about who you are. You WILL see, and feel, the difference it will make in your life. And that is a gift you can't put a price on. Thank you so much Virginia, I feel so fortunate to have met you! “
